Subpage

The UK Chapter of the Association of Old Crows has been invited to run a seminar in the Joint Zone theatre at DSEI 2019, Clarion Events' largest and most prestigious tradeshow.

Date:  Thursday 12 September 2019

Time: 15:30 to 17:00

Location: Joint Zone Theatre, ExCeL London

Seminar Title: Hybrid Warfare, Cyber Electromagnetic Activities and Electronic Warfare – where we are and where we need to go.

DSEI Joint Zone

Seminar Theme

As all war-fighters and their leaders know, warfare in the 21st Century without effective Electronic Warfare and Cyber Electromagnetic Activities across all operational environments / domains is both unthinkable and unwinnable.  Success depends at the very least on control of the Cyber and EM environment/domain at the moment of action and ideally longer term.  Overall domination is extremely unlikely, especially given the level of investment by the free-world, but we have a technological edge, if we can hone it, and prepare it for operational use.  In the immediate future, achieving local superiority is a huge priority, and will require much skill, training, discipline and resources, all over the long term.

Manoeuvre in the EM environment/domain includes offensive, defensive, scoping, surveillance, management, etc. operations, all across all the defence lines of development, which in the UK are Training, Equipment, Personnel, Information, Doctrine (and concepts & policy), Organisation, Infrastructure and Logistics; all underpinned by interoperability. It includes all of military and information capabilities in all warfighting environments/domains.
