Paul "Heywood" Vavra
Paul “Heywood” Vavra served 25 years in the US Air Force, retiring in 2005. A career Electronic Warfare Officer, he flew 3500+ hours and 260+ combat missions in multiple aircraft, both manned and unmanned and held commands at various levels. He also served as Intelligence Officer and Foreign Affairs Officer, and was one of USAF’s first Electronic Combat Coordinators.
Post retirement he has worked in the defense industry as a Business Development Executive supporting US and International EW and manned/unmanned aircraft. He joined Leonardo DRS Technologies in April 2016, specializing in EW threat systems and Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation. Heywood is a noted speaker worldwide on EW payloads and EW training modernization.
